Beef and Chorizo burgers recipe
Ingredients
- 200g minced beef
- 50g Chorizo, chopped
- 1 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
Method
1. Combining beef and chorizo gives you a 30 g hit of protein per burger. Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl. Wet your hands to stop the mixture sticking, then shape into two large or four small burger patties. Do this the day before and leave in the fridge if your planning ahead.
2. Barbecue for three minutes on one side, then flip the patties and barbecue for 4-7 minutes on the other side, depending on how rare you like your burger. Load the patties onto a whole grain bun with salad for a balanced meal.
If you are planning a BBQ party you can also make some nice sides like this Potato salad with cucumber and dill. The Chorizo can be a bit spicy as well, but mix it properly with the beef.
